#2A - Multi-Flame Hooked Nozzle to Get Round Pipes - Oxy / Acetylene Suitable for Pipe Diameters 25-40mm
Braziing & Silver soldering nozzle specifically designed for those awkward to access areas where you may need to join pipes such as close to a bulkhead / panel or wall. The middle size hook nozzle has 9 flames designed to suit pipes from 25 to 40mm diameter.
For brazing other diameter pipes please see the smaller and larger sizes in the range as the nozzles focus the heat correctly for the smaller and larger pipe sizes and have been designed for the correct heat spread required for the pipe sizes required.
This middle size hook brazing nozzle will screw directly into the Lt. Wt. mixer allowing it to be used with Lt. Wt. shank, the brazing nozzle has 9 heating flames which are focused on the same point towards the centre ensuring the tube / pipes to be joined may be heated from all sides, including the back whcih you cannot always get to. This hooked multiple outlet brazing nozzle is ideal for heating and ventilation engineers.
There are also oxy / propane versions available.
Due to the acetylene flow rate these nozzles are not designed to run on the smallest PortaPak acetylene cylinders - the equivalent size for flow would be a welding nozzle size #13 (CFH of DA)
Note that these hook nozzles need to be operated on a minimum of a BOC size “J” or HobbyWeld “plus” size acetylene cylinder.
These hook nozzles will not operate on small DA cylinders and equipment damage may result due to under running and backfire.
Multi-flame nozzles need to operate at higher acetylene pressures compared to the single flame welding nozzles so as to maintain a stable flame. As with all acetylene nozzles when lighting the acetylene only the flow must be increased until no soot is visible from the flame tips - this will be the correct flow of acetylene. The oxygen may then be introduced and the pre-heat flame set.
The flame should be set so that one or two heating flames “dance” off the nozzle base – generally these will seat back again when the nozzle is brought to the tube to be joined.
This burner has been designed to work with 25 to 40mm pipe diameters
