4047 Aluminium in 1.6mm diameter
Sold in 500g, 1000g and 2.5kg packs.
To aluminium braze you need a rod with a higher content of Silicon to enable gas brazing to be completed.  You will also need the correct aluminium brazing flux to be able to successfully braze aluminium joints.
The surface oof the aluminium to be brazed has to be cleaned immediately before brazing, flux applied to the joint surfaces and the metal parts warmed to brazing temperature.

Note the temperature for when the brazing rod will flow is very close to the melting point for aluminium so if you overheat your work piece you will end up with a "blob".

The flux does help to indicate the temperature is being achieved but I was taught to use the end of a matchstick which is touched against the aluminium, when it discolours the brazing temperature has been achieved.

This particular rod is however, not suitable for anodising.
With 12% Silicon content the aluminium will flow more easily compared to other rods available on the market.
