PNMH-9 Heavy Duty Cutting Nozzle - Oxy / Propane Cutting up to 550mm

The PNMHD-9 is the largest size cutting nozzle which may be fitted to the standard NM500 cutting blowpipe.  Due to the large size of this PNMH nozzle the nozzle has to be fitted to the torch with a heavy duty torch head nut designed to fit the PNMH, the outer is larger diameter than a standard cutitng nozzle.
The nozzle is designed for thick section cutting and as such the PNMH has been manufactured with both a copper inner and copper outer instead of the more usual (lower cost) brass inner, the copper inner is much more efficient at conducting heat which helps ensure a much longer working life due to the fact the copper inner does not burn away like the standard brass inner would.

PNMH-9 is a heavy duty high pre-heat oxy/propane cutting nozzle designed for tough situations operating under arduous work conditions.
Full range of sizes are available to cut from 150mm through to 550mm
Sizes available 1/8" to 7/32" plus others to special order.

PNMH 7/64   190 - 200mm          Oxy.  6,0 - 9,0 bar

  • PNMH 1/8     200 - 300mm          Oxy.  6,0 - 9,0 bar
  • PNMH 5/32   300 - 400mm          Oxy.  6,0 - 10 bar
  • PNMH 3/16   300 - 500mm          Oxy.  7.0 - 11.5 bar
Special Oder - Will require a high flow blowpipe.
  • PNMH 7/32   350 - 550mm          Oxy.  4,5 - 10 bar
  • PNMH 1/4     400 - 600mm          Oxy.  4,5 - 10 ba
Cutting oxygen pressure will depend on the torch, hoses and flashback arrestors being used.

Please note that for the PNMH-9 cutting nozzle to operate correctly the nozzle has to be able to "breath" which means the nozzle has to be supplied with sufficient flow of gas, use a multi-stage oxygen regulator or a proper high flow single stage regulator (OR14) ensure that high flow flashback arrestors are fitted followed by hoses with a minimum of 10mm bore and as short as possible.  Make sure the hoses are fitted with HCV which have marked on the HCV "EN730-2" or "EN5175-2" do not use the HCV / hoses if the HCV are not marked.  To be sure of HCV which will flow correctly you could fit our HCV as we know these will minimise any flow restriction and our HCV have a high flow.

Correct lighting up is very important for these nozzles due to the high flow of the pre-heat.

  1. Ignite the propane and introduce some oxygen - move to straw coloured flame
  2. Add in more propane - flame very yellow once again
  3. Introduce more oxygen once again with the flame going back to a straw colour
  4. Repeat #2 & #3 a few times.
  5. Finally add in more propane - flame now bluish and slight straw coloured
  6. finally adjust the oxygen - Pre-heat flames should be quite noisy - set to pale blue cones and should almost be lifting off the nozzle tip - quite a fierce flame.
  7. Depress the oxygen cutting lever and readjust the oxygen pre-heat setting so the pre-heat flame is back to the setting with the cutting oxygen flowing.

Heavy duty head nut required due to large barrel diameter.   Item Code = AR1047

Note
The Comparison photographs illustrate the difference between a conventional 1/8" PNME-9 (or PNM-9)  and the 1/8"  PNMH-9 - it is very apparent the vast difference between the two pre-heat outlet configurations and why there is a much greater amount of heat provided by the PNMH.
