Harris OZ / E9 Nozzle Tip Cleaning Wire Loops Designed for High Speed Nozzles
Harris wire loop tip cleaners may be the most expensive tip cleaners on the market however these tip cleaners are the only tip cleaners which can safely be used on high speed cutting nozzles. These tip cleaners will save you considerable amounts of money by extending the life of your cutting nozzles and maintaining the performance.
The Harris wire loop tip cleaners have been designed not to cut or damage the high speed cutting orifice, hence why these tip cleaners will save you far more than the cost of the set of tip cleaners. No matter which high speed nozzles you use, V V C, VAC, VAX, VPM or other high speed nozzle styles these Harris tip cleaners will give you the solution you need.
To use the nozzle tip cleaners correctly
Cool the nozzle down in water
Remove the nozzle from the machine cutting torch so it is easier to work on.
Look at the nozzle tip face and orifice to see if you can see the oxide which is causing the problem.
Having quenched the nozzle it may be possible to pick the oxide off from the nozzle tip.
If not then place the nozzle on a flat surface, and use the wire brush to remove any surface dross. If there is no oxide / spatter on the nozzle tip face then move on to clean the nozzle orifice.
To clean the nozzle orifice
First try the smallest twisted wire loop burnishing needle that easily fits in the nozzle orifice, rotate the tip cleaner back and forth plus up & down - these do not cut but can are used to knock off small balls of spatter / oxide from the orifice walls. - Test nozzle flame shape
If necessary use a larger size wire loop which will pass through the high speed throat and clean the cutting orifice until the high speed jet is correctly restored.
Once again test the nozzle flame shape.
