Mini LPG 1 Gauge Regulator Small Connection 7/16" UNF
This one gauge LPG regulator is for the small disposable fuel gas canisters which have the small connection thread 7/16" UNF this small diameter connection is sometimes referred to as the “European connection” whereas the larger 1" connection is referred to as the “American connection”.
The smaller thread connection canisters are generally used on the lower cost LP gases with Butane such as the Kemper Novacet , Supergas or the Rothenberger Maxigas, Multigas et cetera. All the low cost gases make more use of Butane to bulk the gas volume up and have small amounts of other slightly hotter LP gases added – please be aware that there are some widely inaccurate claims made about the burning temperature for many of these mixtures, even on some key OEM products which should know better!
Butane it the bulk gas in most so generally that is what is burnt in the greatest proportion, the effect of the “additive gases” is very limited on overall flame temperature.
For a better gas in a disposable canister switch to the pure propane or pure propylene (large thread canister connection).
This Kemper LPG regulator is fitted with one pressure gauge to show the working / operating pressure which has been set by adjusting the pressure control knob. Two gauges are not required on the LPG regulator, on a typical regulator the second gauge is the “contents” pressure gauge. For the LPG regulator a contents gauge is not required because the gauge would only indicate the vapour pressure above the liquid which means from full to almost completely empty (no liquid left) the pressure would remain constant (only really varying with temperature).
The only sure method to check the contents is to weigh the canister before use so you know the starting point then subtract the difference as you use your gas. Typically the liquid gas contents is say 330g for the 600ml size of canister.
The Kemper regulator outlet is fitted with a small red coloured non return valve (HCV - Hose Check Valve) with the small bore nipple to connect the hose.
Please be aware that this is not a Flashback Arrestor.
