Pistol Flint Spark Lighter  - for use both left and right handed applications

These are the most simple of the spark lighters to be used as they do not require any specific manipluation to enable to lighter operate correctly.
Some artisans when trying to ignite their blowpipe nozzle using the "wrong hand" find a traditional single flint lighter awkward to operate,

These pistol grip spark lighter may be simply used with either left or right hand  as all you need to do is pull the trigger which fires off the sparks to enable you to ignite your nozzle.

When lighting never point the spark lighter opening at the gas coming out of the nozzle  (why would you as you would burn your hand when the gas lights up!)
We need to tell you this because in my previous employment there was an incident where a pistol shaped lighter filled with gas which burst apart when the spark was initiated!
Please note that in the early part of my career I never once had a problem with a pistol type spark lighter and I used them everyday for  more than 10 years!

The advice however when lighting is:-
Do not point the lighter toward the exiting gas, nor have the lighter at 90 degrees to the nozzle face, rather have the lighter at an acute angle to the nozzle face / exiting gas.
Position the spark outlet of the lighter at the side of the nozzle pointing in the same direction as the gas flow, then ignite.  Pull the trigger.

Note - When lighting an oxy / fuel nozzle on an equal pressure mixing system, having first carried out the system check, leak test and purging of the gases, light just the fuel gas, it is much safer to have a high flow of fuel rather than a low flow.
