Sheet Metal Cutting Nozzle - 0.5 - 3mm for Thin Sheet
This ADTNM sheet metal cutting nozzle has a single pre-heat flame so as not to distort the sheet metal. A normal ANM with 6 pre-heat flame even when turned down to a low setting causes sheet metal to warp. Having only the single pre-heat cone the heat imparted to the plate is much less. The direction of cut does have to follow the pre-heat flame of course.
This ADTNM or "drag tip" is different to the standard ASNM sheet metal nozzle this is because the ADTNM has the nozzle support in front of the direction of cut instead of behind, This design feature helps to prevent the drag tip snagging on oxide "bubbles" as happens with the standard ASNM.
The standard ASNM design has the sheet metal support following the cut which repeatedly snags the oxide bubbles which means the cut stops and the nozzle has to be lifted up and the cut restarted.
With the ADTNM sheet metal nozzle having the height support in front of the pre-heat and the cut, the support rests on top of the clean sheet making cutting easier and quicker with less "stop - starts".
