As you know the main filter is the key instrument which provides the clean air to your PAPR TC180D welding hood, which allows for you to be able to weld for extended periods, free from welding fume whilst you are working.

The importance of the pre-filter and spark barrier filter must not be under estimated.

The spark filter helps prevent the filter from being ignited by a spark, therefore the filter unit must NEVER be operated without the spark filter in place.

The pre-filter needs to be replaced regularly which significantly helps to extend the operating life of your main HEPA filter.

When the pre-filter is to be replaced the correct precedure needs to be followed to ensure cleanliness is maintained - please read the instructions supplied with the pre-filter.

Pre-filters must never be vacuumed clean or blown through with an airline, otherwise all the good work the pre-filter carried out in protecting  you would be undone in a few seconds.

Dirty filters should be disposed of in accordance with your local waste regulations, check with your council in your area.
