6mm x 450mm MMA Welding Rods Hyundai S-6013.LF Mild Steel Welding Electrodes - 5kg Pack
Typical Applications for these S-6013.LF electrodes would be for use in welding of machinery, vehicles and light structural steels plus surface dressing of heavy steel structures.
Welding characteristics for these S-6013.LF being a high titania type of welding electrode means that the usability is excellent in all position welding for the sizes from 2,5mm to 5,0 mm. These welding rods are suitable for welding of light structural steels due to its beautifully stable arc, shallow penetration and smooth weld bead.
Hyundai S-6013.LF 6,00mm are a low fume type electrode of which the fume generation is about 20% less than conventional high titania type electrode.
1. When excessive moisture absorption occurs for any reason dry the electrodes at 70∼100℃ (158~212℉) for 30∼60minutes before use. Excessive moisture absorption causes increase of fumes, spatters and may result in some porosity, lower usability.
2. Pay attention not to exceed the range of proper currents welding with excessive current not only lowers X-ray performance but also causes increase of spatter, undercut and insufficient slag covering.

position
The smaller sizes of the Hyundai S-6013.LF are "all position" welding electrodes however these large size - 6mm (15/64") diameter welding rods will only normally be used flat in the downhand position.
The weld protecting slag results in an easy peel after welding (depends on the skill of the welder and how short you have kept the welding arc).
The electrode welds with a smooth stable arc on both AC and DC. Spatter is minimal. Weld seams are smooth, bright and evenly rippled. Initial arc strike and re-strike are instant. For flat and vertical down welding use amperages towards the top end and for vertical up and overhead towards the bottom of range. Slag detachability is excellent and metal recovery is up to 80% with respect to weight of core wire.
Recommended amperage: 220-300 amps
