VBC Meta-Braze LT 21 Flux Powder - DIY 70g Pot
This flux powder is the best replacement to Easy-Flo silver solder flux manufactured by Johnson Matthey.
For consistent results and the strongest joints the gap joint should be 0.002" to 0.007" per joint.
This silver solder flux is very easy to use and it is no surprise that this flux is steadily taking over the market. It is very fluid at the bottom end of its working range resulting in early and extensive flux spread, this ensures that the joint surfaces are well protected from oxidation at the earliest possible point of the brazing operation. This high level of fluidity also helps to reduce flux voids / entrapment in the joint, the low viscosity of the flux aiding its displacement by the brazing filler metal from the joint gap. Meta-Braze has a working range of 550-800C. It is suitable for use with silver brazing filler metals melting below 750C (such as Silver-flo, Easy-flo and Argo-braze filler metals).
Meta-Braze 21 LT Flux Powder can be used on all of the normal engineering materials (copper, brass, mild steel and stainless steel), but not aluminium.
VBC and JM produce special purpose fluxes for when brazing aluminium bronze, certain grades of stainless steel, tungsten, molybdenum and tungsten carbide or where protracted heating is involved. Please see the other fluxes in this section such as the "Tenacity" range.
Meta-Braze Flux Powder has excellent hot rodding characteristics which means that the flux adheres well to a warmed brazing rod allowing flux to be transferred to the joint area via the rod. This ability makes Meta-Braze flux powder our recommended choice in hand brazing operations where the time to produce a brazed component is crucial.
