Headux Titan Cut 40 PFC Inverter Plasma Cutter 110V & 230V
Manual plasma cutter which has been designed to provide excellent cutting and bevel cutting performance on mild steel with a severance cut up to 25mm thick.
As a power factor corrected plasma cutter (PFC) this means you will bw able to work from a wide variety of power souces with a wide voltage range from 90 to 275 volts on a 230 volt supply. This means that you can hook up to a generator and not suffer performance problems as the generator output fluctuates.
The pilot arc feature enables simple starting with the industry standard cutting torch which means that the consumable parts are ecconomic to purchase. The standard cutting torch is a PT60 type plasma cutting torch 4m long. This Headux Cut 40 plasma cutter is able to cut mesh and perforated plate without problems because it doesn't have to touch the base material to start cutting.
The fantastic fact about plasma cutters is that they will easliy cut materials which traditional oxy / fuel processes cannot easliy cut so the Headux Cut 40 Plasma cutter will easliy cut copper sheet, aluminium, stainless steel and of course mild steel. With the arc being so intense the plasma cutter is able to cut much more quickly than oxy / fuel processes which gives rise to another great improvement in that the heat affected zone is very narrow. When cutting painted bodywork this plasma cutter has the ablity to start on the painted surface and doesn't require a patch of bare metal.
The standard style PT60 plasma cutting torch has a trigger guard for safety so the trigger cannot accidentally be depressed, to assist with maintaining your cutting height the torch is fitted with a double leg stand-off cutting guide this helps you achieve a better quality of cut face and improve torch movement. The stand off guide may be twisted to any angle to assist with the direction of cut, these are a consumable item and simply clip in place should you damage yours. The cutting nozzles are available in several sizes to suit the work thickness you will be cutting - nozzle sizes are 0,6mm, 0,8mm, 0,9mm 1,0mm & 1,1mm. The arc plasma producing electrode has a hafnium insert which helps prolong the electrode life.
As a simple single phase 40 Amp plasma cutter this machine just requires a supply of compressed air, preferably dry compressed air because water in the air can cause problems and destroy the consumable parts quickly. Due to the problems "wet air" can present to a plasma cutter this Headux Cut 40 Plasma Cutter has a built-in pressure regulator with water separator mounter on the rear of the machine.
The air line inlet uses the same "inert" gas quick connector found on the Headux TIG and MIG welding machines which means it is quick and easy to couple the compressed air supply without it leaking.
The main power switch is located on the rear panel adjacent to the built-in regulator, the air supply regulator may be adjusted by turning the PA knob protruding from the top at the rear of the machine - the pressure set is viewed on the pressure gauge.
On the control panel there is one main control which is the power setting which makes this Headux plasma cutter very simple to set and use.
As with all "arc" processes the correct PPE is essential so as to avoid damage to skin, eyes and lungs so please remember a full set of PPE is a must for your safety.
