Miniature Propane / Propylene canister regulator - With Outlet Pressure Gauge - G1/4 LH outlet connection
This propane / MAPP gas regulator will fit many of the mini oxy fuel sets that are available on the market. An example of just a few would be the Oxyturbo 200, Rothenberger 120L and the CWS Mini Braze (Only the New revised stand design available from mid July 2025). Any MAP/P, MAPP, Propane or Propylene bottle that has been supplied from Worthingtons (USA) will have the same 1" inlet connection thread. (GCA600).
Typically these gas cylinders are either blue or yellow and come with a large thread of around 25.4mm diameter. (1").
The outlet from our mini propane reg is G1/4 (1/4" BSP) with a left hand thread.
This thread is suitable for any G1/4 LH (1/4 BSP Left Hand) flash back arrestors and any hoses fitted with G1/4 LH (1/4 BSP LH) nuts.
The output pressure from this regulator has a range of 0-1.7 bar.
These small canisters are used very successfully for lead welding along with a whole host of brazing and heating applications. Lead welding is not the same as fusion welding.
Please be aware that it is not possible to fusion weld with any of the LPG derived gases, this is due to the very oxidising flame. The maximum flame temperature excedes the melting point of steel by several hundred degrees even without adding in extra oxygen which increases the flame temperature by almost a further 1000C.
Also, please do not believe the mis-information concerning how hot some of the gas mixtures will burn at for example - oxy / propane will provide 2810C and oxy / propylene provides 2872C.
Oxy / acetylene provides 3106C which is the hottest commerciall available flame temperature and is able to do this with a neutral flame i.e. not oxidising which is why oxy / acetylene may be used to fusion weld.
Important NOTE
We have changed the CWS Mini gas set canister stand so as to accommodate the new LPG regulator with the gauge - these new revised gas canister stands are now available (12th June 2025).
Important
Retro fitting this regulator to our previous CWS Mini Lead welding Model "O" set is not really possible. It is possible to enjoy the benefit of a fuel gas outlet pressure gauge when working with our existing Mini Gas Stand set, when you require the outlet pressure gauge then it is better to purchase the pressure gauge and 90 degree adaptor as these allow the exisiting regualtor to be used, with the accessory gauge fitted the cylinder clamp functions correctly.
