Upgrade your old or tired automatic darkening filter (ADF) with this quality replacement true colour lens which provides shades from level 5 through to shade 13 which makes it suitable for most TIG, MIG and ARC welding processes.

This replacement ADF cartridge is one of the most common sizes found being 110 x 90 x 8 mm or in imperial measeures  4 21/64" x 3 1/2" x 5/16" so will be a good replacement for many passive lenses. 
With respect to the size of the lens there is a 5mm border which is 8mm thickness the control pod which includes the battery compartment measures 12.7mm thick, the control pod size being 100mm wide x 25.4mm in depth, just above the viewing screen.
The height to the top of the three control knobs from the front face of the true colour ADF lens is 20mm, the control knob diameter is 14mm tapering to 12mm

This true colour filter unit has a light state of shade 3 and may be set between shades 5 to 9 or 9 to 13 to suit your welding power and process.  The left hand toggle switch moves between "Welding"  or "Grinding" , when switched to "Grinding" the lens will stop reacting to bright flashes , as when you are grinding. 
The optical quality of this true colour lens is one of the best on the market being graded as class 1/1/1/2 to EN379  only class 1/1/1/1 is better, Noz-Alls sell several masks with this highest of optical qualities.

The replacement ADF is powered by a solar cell which is backed up by 2 lithium button cells the commonly available CR2032 the ADF unit has a low battery indicator on the rear so you will know when to change the batteries. 
Battery life will be good so long as you keep the welding mask in a dark cupboard when not in use so that the lens will "hibernate" and not consume battery power.  As with all true colour mask lenses they will activate when left on a bench due to the changes in light as clouds pass.

Four sensors are positioned with two each side of the solar cell on the front of the ADF.

There is the ability to adjust the delay to light and the sensitivity as well as the shade level using the 3 potentiomiters at the top of the rear of the lens.
