Small Circle Cutting Guide - Fits NM Torch - & Working Height Drag Pin
Small circle cutting guide is a simple device which clamps over the 3 cutting torch tubes.
The point is adjustable for height so may be used with both ANM (76mm) and ANME (88mm) type cutting nozzles.
First the plate in which the hole is to be cut is pierced and the cut run out to the circumference, the point of the small circle cutting guide is placed in a "centre pop" mark in the plate surface. From the pierce cut the circle is then cut in the plate pivoting the torch about the centre point.
The upper knob is the clamping screw for opening the clamp and tightening the clamp to the cutting torch tubes.
The lower screw is to fix the height of the nozzle above the plate surface. The pre-heat cones should be approximately 1,6mm above the plate surface, the torch tubes should be parallel to the plate surface.
With the small circle cutting guide fitted to an Excalibur NM250 blowpipe cicles from 70mm diameter to 520mm diameter may be cut.
Working Height Pin
While working with long cutting blowpipes where access is not good, it is often difficullt to maintain the correct working height of the cutting nozzle pre-heat flames above the plate being cut. A double roller cutting guide is an easy addition to work with, however the roller guide may be too wide and this is where the Small Circe Guide is useful. The centre point pin is removed from the holder, turn the pin over so the point goes back in the holder and the blunt end may then be used as a pivot fulcrum to steady the torch height or when set close to the torch head the pin may function as a "drag" point ensuring the pre-heat height is maintained above the plate resulting in less backfire, less burnt out nozzles and greater amount of work being completed.
