As a manufacturer and supplier to Afrox for 20 years, generally for most of the lower volume oxy / fuel nozzles styles, which included the Type 2 welding nozzles, our nozzle range has a reputation for being good quality. 

Our Type 2 swaged welding nozzles are 100% checked to ensure that they have the correct size hole to provide the proper welding cone length and flame characteristics, whilst at the other end the threads are measured to ensure they correctly fit the Type 2 mixer, requiring just the minimum torque, to ensure a leak free seating even when tested with the nozzle completely block at a back pressure of 3,5 bar.

The Type 2 swaged welding nozzles fit our Type 5 shank and standard acetylene mixer:-
sizes #1, #2, #3, #5, #7, #10, #13, #18, #25 & #35, These nozzles fit the Type 2 mixer which we are able to also supply. For the larger size nozzles for the Type 5 torch system then the heavy duty Acetylene mixer is required for sizes #45, #55, #70 & #90

The Welding nozzles are manufactured from thick walled copper tube :- 9.5mmOD #1 to #35, sizes #45 to #90 12.5mm OD tube with extra thick walls for greater heat conduction.

Bent length  245mm - Size #18 to #35 
Bent length  300mm - Size #45 to #90 

Nozzle sizes #1, #2, #3 & #5 may all be used on the smallest PortaPak acetylene cylinders.
Nozzles up to size #35 may be used on full size industrial DA cylinders.
Nozzle sizes #45 to #90 must only be used on DA cylinders which have been inter-connected using a 3 way cylinder adaptor and flexible connections to suit or from a manifold system.
The simplest and safest check for sufficient acetylene flow once ignited is the ability to turn up the acetylene until the large yellow flame has no black soot emanating from the tips of the flame, the soot disappears and you have the design flow for acetylene - introduce the oxygen.

Note - Type 2 welding nozzles above size 35 must not be used in a Type 5 standard UK acetylene mixer.
