Headux CMT 250 Syn MIG - HF Pulsed TIG - MMA Welder and Plasma Cutter with pilot arc
CMT 250 = Compact Multiple Technology 200 Amp welding & 40 Amp Plasma
4 machines in one:-
I Synergic MIG / MAG welder 20 - 200Amps - 11 - 28 Volts
II Pulsed Digital DC TIG with HF start + Lift TIG when required 10 - 200A
III MMA stick welder 10 to 160 Amps
IV Plasma cutter 0,5 to 15mm - Quick clean cut - with pilot arc
Your
Headux CMT 2-50 machine is supplied complete with 4 torches including:-
- MB24 style 3m long MIG/MAG torch,
- WP26 style TIG torch x 4m, - Flexible neck
- Standard style PT40 Plasma cutting torch x 4m (PT60 consumables).
- MMA type crocodile stick electrode holder.
Picture illustrates the CMT 250 multi-process machines with each of the four process torches.
This is a genuine four process machine allowing the three most common welding methods to used plus the advantage of being able to plasma cut all metal types the pilot arc allows you to cut through paint and cut mesh – the plasma requires a separate external dry air supply. 5.5 cfm at 5 bar. At Noz-Alls we have small compressors available to suit this when required. See our compressor range.
This
HEADUX CMT250 is genuinely four machines built into one case – hence the need for so many connections on the front panel.
This Headux CMT250 (Compact Multiple Technology) is vastly different to the cheap inverter welders which offer plasma cutting, the reason why cheap plasma incorporated multi-process machines fail is due to the lack of suitable design. The cheap machines make use of the welding inverter board to undertake the plasma cutting whereas they really require a separate circuit which is where Headux comes in.
The
Headux CMT 250 makes use of a completely separate welding and plasma circuits, providing 200 Amp welder and a 40 Amp plasma with separate transformers plus different rectifiers on the Inverter power board to ensure the plasma cutting is effective and will not destroy the PC board, hence why there is the “Euro” plasma torch connection plus a separate plasma work return lead dinse socket on the front panel along with the necessary program selection of course. The advanced circuits for the plasma cutting provide effective cutting similar to a 50amp plasma unit.
Having the four machines built into one case saves you on the cost of buying 4 different machines when actually you only need the one. If we are to stick with the same brand and buy all 4 machines separately you could be spending about double what you need to. Our Headux CMT 250 Multi Function Welder provides you with:-
Synergic or Manual MIG / MAG Mode 20 - 200 Amps (11 - 28 Volts)
Fully synergic MAG / MIG welding or choose manual “two control” MAG / MIG welding from 20 to 200Amps with the low power 20 amp setting being able to weld very thin metal, with the power taking you up to thick steel of 8 to 9mm thickness should it be required.
Simple to use and set this is quite an advanced MIG welder and should be capable of most tasks you wish to take on.
Simple and quick synergic settings for mild steel, stainless steel, flux cored, gasless & aluminium filler wires providing for MIG / MAG welding of the majority of metal types.
MAG weld from 0.5mm to 8.0mm mild steel power supply blue 230V input 32 Amp.
Wire feed button to load wire without wasting gas
Automatic burnback provided
Soft start to prevent "punching" of the wire on thin metals
Ensuring you have the best ability to weld is not just up to the great electronic features which is why we have specified a wire feed system which uses a four roll geared wire drive providing for the most consistent wire feeding possible no matter whether it is mild steel, CuSi brazing, stainless steel or aluminium filler wire being fed through to your MB25 style MIG torch. Three sets of drive rollers are supplied with your Headux CMT machine.
DC Pulsed TIG Welding Mode 10 - 200 Amps with HF Ignition
Proper DC pulsed TIG welder with HF (high frequency) start to initiate the arc without having to scratch start.
Of course “Lift TIG” is possible when required should you be working close to sensitive equipment such as working in a hospital.
The TIG functionality provides you with the full range of TIG settings which are possible on a DC pulsed welder:-
- TIG amps may be set between 10 and 200 amps.
- Pre-flow of shielding gas 0-10 seconds
- Pre-Amps range -10-200A
- Slope up time 0 -20 seconds
- Peak power amps - 10 to 200 A
- Trough amps 10 to 200A
- Pulse duty 10 to 90%
- Pulse hertz between 1 and 999Hz
- Slope down time 0 - 20 seconds
- Finishing amps 10 - 200 amps
- Post flow 0 to 20 seconds
MMA stick welding mode 20 - 160 Amps
Your machine is an accomplished stick welder with power to spare in the majority of requirements.
The arc welding power may be set between 20 and 160 amps.
Arc force may be adjusted which helps prevent the welding rod sticking during working your weld bead by applying a very short duration of extra power should the rod tip be about to “stick” to the parent metal.
In a similar fashion the “hot start” may be set which provides a power boost when striking up the arc as you start the weld bead, as with the “arc force” this is just for a fraction of a second but enough to make starting the weld bead easier.
This stick welder has the ability to weld with 1,6mm through to 4,0mm welding rods.
Plasma Cutting Mode 15 - 40 Amps - Pilot Arc
One of the most important features for a plasma cutter is the pilot arc which enables mesh and intermittent cutting to be performed as well as the ability to cut through paint as the torch doesn’t have to touch the metal before being able to cut / strike an arc.
This plasma cutter will cut up to 15mm thick steel with a quick clean cut although to work at speed the plate thickness would be 12mm.
The design of the Headux plasma circuit provides the effectivness of a typical 50 Amp powered plasma cutter.
The compressed air inlet regulator is built onto the back of the CMT, the regulator is a standard compressed air regulator which has a water separator built in. The plasma cutting torch -
PT40 - makes use of standard consumable PT60 parts and there are several cutting nozzle sizes to provide the best cutting ability across the thickness range.
