Oxy / Acetylene Heating Nozzle Light Weight FN Torch System (some called Lite)

Light Weight heating nozzle range for fitting to the FN mixer. Four sizes of rose heating heads all ideal for use in the heating and ventiation industry to braze and bend pipes.  These heating nozzles have been designed to operate with oxy / acetylene which provides 3106 degrees C and the most intense heat input of any oxy / fuel flame.

Applications such as pre-heating or post heating for welding applications.
Oxy / acetylene flames provide the most intense heating which allows instant spot heating.

These acetylene heating heads have the following flow rates:-
Nozzle size 1  = 10 CFH or 285L/ hr  - See Note "A"
Nozzle size 2  = 13 CFH or 360L/hr  - See Note "B"  
Nozzle size 3  = 25 CFH or 740L/hr  - See Note "C"
Nozzle size 4  = 35 CFH or 1000L/hr  - See Note "D"

Please note none of the above heating nozzles are for use with small portapack acetylene cylinders due to the withdrawal rate being too high.

Under running nozzles will "bang" when they turn off and become unstable in use.
Having purged and leak tested correctly, the correct acetylene flow is set when having lit just the acetylene, the large yellow flame is increased until no soot / black smoke is visible from the tips of the flame, in this condition the oxygen may be introduced and a neutral flame set.

Do NOT use - BOC PortaPak "K or M", Hobbyweld "Original" DA cylinders - all too small.
Use DA cylinders with minimum contents of 1425 L  /  1.6 kg gas.
Use HobbyWeld "Plus" acetylene or BOC "J" size or larger

Note "B"
Use DA cylinders with minimum contents of 1800 L  /  2.0 kg gas.
Use HobbyWeld "Plus" acetylene or BOC "J" size or larger

Note "C"
Use DA cylinders with minimum contents of 3700 L  /  4.0 kg gas.
Use full size acetylene cylinders or BOC "H" size or larger

Note "D"
Use DA cylinders with minimum contents of 5000 L  /  5.5 kg gas.
Use full size acetylene cylinders or BOC "H" size or larger
For constant operation this is the largest size nozzle for use on a single large industrial acetylene cylinder.

The above assumes the cylinder set is in a workshop environment which does not drop to 10 degrees or less (freezing) as the effervescent rate will reduce with lower temperatures.

The best flow is achieved on cylinders which are 3/4 to 1/4 full as they are less likely to carryover acetone at peak flow.
Some suppliers of acetylene cylinders use a higher divisible number than 5 to calculate their maximum acetylene cylinder withdrawal rate, this is because some tall slim aceylene cylinders do not liberate acetylene as quickly due to the small area into which the effervescence of acetylene can take place.  
Check with your supplier as some suppliers may use 7 or even 11 to divide the acetylene cylinder contents to give you the maximum usable flow rate.
